Career Bio
From backyard rinks to center ice at PPG Paints Arena
Jacob Wilson was skating before he could properly tie his own laces. Growing up on frozen ponds, he fell in love with the game's rhythm — the glide, the give-and-go, the roar of a packed crowd. That love turned into relentless work, and relentless work turned into a career built for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Known across the league for his elite hockey IQ and tireless motor, Jacob anchors the second line as a two-way center who can finish plays as easily as he sets them up. Teammates call him "The Engine" — the guy who never stops moving, on or off the puck.
Off the ice, Jacob is a dedicated mentor to Pittsburgh's youth hockey programs, running free clinics every summer to grow the game he loves in the city that adopted him.
